Water Me, Lord
(a prayer)

Oh Lord, I am thirsty
for Your Spirit's touch,
for I have given much, but
now I am dry, and know not
why my soul is parched,
and my neck arched
like a plant with limbs
reaching up
to take a drink.

Sweep me up, and hold me tight
and fill my heart with Your
loving touch - that nectar
of life rich with delight;
oh how I need
Your respite.
How I long for Your way
to appease, giving my heart release.
