Key Scriptures On Worship and Praise

The following scriptures are from the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Bible. The Bible is overflowing with passages of worship and praise. This is but a sampling, however, Psalms 92, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, and 145-150 focus on worship and praise.

"O Come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods" (Ps. 95:1-3).

"O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker" (Ps. 95:6).

"Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God" (Ps. 50:23).

"O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods" (Ps. 96:1-4).

"Because thy loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name" (Ps. 63).

"This people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise" (Is. 43:21).

"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23-24).

"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord" (Ps. 150:6).

"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;" (Eph. 5:18-20).

"By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name" (Heb. 13:15).

"I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies" (2 Sam. 22:4).

"I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Ps. 34:1).

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:" (1 Pet. 2:9).

"This people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise" (Is. 43:21).
